Weird I saw a pic just yesterday of one of these , this guy's friend had actually photographed it in the wild on safari or something , lucky thing .
Thats in it's courtship colours too , I bet they wont last long for people when most of the year they are brown |
One last jump , that's all we have to take Holth . Wearily the old queen gathered heself to spring ; Moreta gratefully began her litany . Black , blacker , blackest - They went between . |

I dont know....so many wild animals are being turned into 'exotic pets'. I know at times it is good because of the loss of them in the wild....but with others is it really so necessary to have something 'different' just because it is 'different'? I know I am being hypocritical being a corn snake owner and lover and I think some of the morphs are amazing.....but it does just make me stop and think when I see something like the spiderman lizard. xxx |

Valid point there Kellog, just because it's interesting and unusual make people want it, which can potentially cause problems in the long run with the species of the animal.
The Dodo for example, because of the size of the bird and the meat it produced it was heavily 'farmed', causing it's extinction. Heavy farming of other species of animal (although for the pet trade as opposed food) could cause the same problems. |

To me that lizard looks rubbish and would never be even remotely close to my wanted list. |

Never realised the dodo was farmed into extinction. I know that some animals have been saved from extinction by zoos, but it has been done for conservation purposes - not for our pleasure. xxx |

That guy is a Rock Agama, they was all over the place while we was in kenya, Awsome looking lizards but only got one pic of them :( im pretty sure that pic has been enhanced to make it look more like spidy as the ones we seen had orange heads and were not as vivid. I was askin the guides about it and they said it was that colour all year round.
Not the greatest pic in the world but he was quite far away. |
