Was just wondering where is the best place to grab the snake as I am lifing it out of the viv. I tend to aim for the middle of Blossom. Yesterday I missed and she was none to happy when I caught her by the tail end. |

Ours are 9 weeks old, and I scoop them up about 3 inches from their heads, however with my own snake ( my baby ) I can actually pick her up with my fingers, so is so gentle and beautiful and quite calm, damn I love my snakey so much |

No but seriously... Gently but firmly and with confidence, and get them by the middle. I'm not a fan of grabbing snakes just behind the head - it just annoys them. I tend to think of tail-grabbing as a technique for dealing with aggressive snakes as it keeps the dangerous bit well away from you, but as with head-grabbing, it tends to annoy them. Tail-grabbing is also a sure-fire way of getting pooped on
