Thorne Walker I love that diagram, its so nerdy! Raksha I have heard good stuff about Brapford locations, especially mills and underground stuff :) I'm just building up to my first trip down a sewer which will be interesting (and smelly!)

I'm a massive fan of Star Wars, Dexter, Sons of Anarchy, LOTR, Firefly, Alien, Game of Thrones, etc.

Used to play 40K in the form of Necromunda.poopat painting, but excellent at building scenery out of card and beer cans.

Oh, and I keep snakes...

Re acer - have you tried airlayering? Sango kaku maple was the first one I tried to airlayer and it worked! It's slightly slower growing on its on roots than the parent tree, but doing well.
You can also try acers from seed, pick the seeds of a basic Japanese mountain maple ( don't try any cultivars, they tend to be infertile and if anything comes out, it's weak) in November/ December, stratify in the fridge over winter and sow in spring. As long as it's the normal mountain maple, they should come up ok, and they are naturaly very variable ( bit like normal corn snakes :-) ), so there might be a real gems in amongst your seedlings. Just bear in mind the leaves look strange in the first year and only show their true colours and shapes in their second year.

Sorry for shamelessly highjacking this thread, couldn't resist...

I have tried the whole seed thing with acers and nothing happened. All that time waiting with seeds in the fridge etc. Very disappointing. I have a couple of nice oak seedlings, some olive seedlings and even a Baobab which I am growing from seed (it'll be quite a few years before I can do much with it but I get to see the whole of its development). Just no luck with maples, the seeds never seem to do anything.

I might have to consider air layering though, I didn't think of that even though I have a nice air layered chunk from a crab apple.

Thorne, I love the picture, where did you find that?

Can't wait for the new Black Ops, special editions were announced this week. I play in a clan every Fri, Sat and Sun night.

Ooooh im old school, dunno just didn't like Modern Warfare, Black ops all the way for me! I play with/on my OH account of SamfromDominos if anyone ever wants to play just ask if Lauren is on/playing or play with my OH, ive trained him not to bite
Simmy_82 Posted - 30/08/2012 : 13:37:23
I play a lot of PS3 (25 Platinums). Tho not COD games, not a massive FPS fan. Only FPS's i'll play are Killzone games. COD games are just getting a bit to repetitive and the ease for cheaters is annoying, and a lot of players online are the bitchiest.

Thanks for the info on the Trooper armour!

I'm another one in to urbex ... have been frequenting derelict buildings for coming up to 7 years now and the smell of decay never gets old.

Another hobby is PC gaming though, huge Counter-Strike fan! Oh and 1/5 scale RC cars ... another of my obsessions.

Thumbs up for a nother Trooper! Please don't buy your armour from ebay though, it's not the best quality and can be overpriced for the kit you get!!!! try RS Propmasters as their kit is excellent. Any other advice on armour just ask :)

I used to have a set of Iron man armour too which I loved but had to sell :(

If Game of Thrones is geeky then most people in the western world qualify for geekdom lol!

Mike80 Posted - 30/08/2012 : 00:07:49
I read almost constantly and write almost constantly too. I also spent a lot of time playing World of Warcraft (start of TBC to end of WotLK), I collect and paint Warhammer 40k miniatures and spend a large amount of my time sleeping in the woods studying nature/wildlife.

I don't know whether that means I'm a geek/nerd or just a guy with hobbies. I certainly wouldn't describe myself as a geek, but I'm sure others would.
