Watch out people, I'm thinking of setting free my 9 inch 4.5g hatchling, lock up your children/dogs/cats, he's a killer.

(I'm kidding, I would never do such a thing!)

But I'm not kidding, be warned!

OMG i just came on here to post the webpage up and seen it had already been done!! the article is just completly stupid lol, just shows the stupidity of people these days. Get one of us snake owners there bet we'd catch it in no time!!

Having links to the public, I can tell you it is absolutely amazing that some of them learned how to breathe.

Heres my comment on that article

That is a harmless corn snake. And the fact it says it could harm a child is rediculous. People like this journalist need to educate themselfs before commenting on an iccident they no sod all about. I own 6 corn snakes. And kids love them. Their teeth are about 1or 2 mm and they would not constrict something they cant eat. This is the reason why soo many people are scaredof such beautiful creatures. If some people took the amount of time moaning about them and actually got to learn and own one they would realise how beautiful and interesting they are. And a helicopter to look for a 4 ft snake thats about as thick as a £2 coin. Stupid or just wasting time.

This story is amazing! But having links to the Police, I can tell you right now they woukdnt call a chopper for just any old snake.. Some daft member of the oublic would have probably told them it was a giant python or something... Still not great, but it would have been sensational exaggeration by the public or media. Misinformed public more likely. Sad eh?

lmao. media blow things well out of proportion. mine has escaped on friday night, the traps are down lol.

Oh dear indeed. I do wonder how big it could really be if they used a spoon to catch it...
Donnie Posted - 30/07/2012 : 18:39:32
What can you say to stories like that
Maybe as a nation we should hire the python hunters or somebody like that to track and capture all of the 'deadly' corn snakes that are on the loose so our children can sleep safe at night

Yes using thermal sensors for a cold blooded reptile is rather nonsensical.
Plus, I would be more worried about a venomous snake rather than a constrictor, we generally don't keep anti-venoms stocked very high in this country. Besides, if it was thrown into a bin 3 times before it got a bit hissy then it's a pretty calm snake.

It's also a cost to our tax money, choppa's aren't cheap!

Thanks for that! right now my pets are secret but I have to live on teh sly lest someone figures out I have 'possibly deadly' snakes!
Lixra Posted - 30/07/2012 : 16:53:57
Not just how can they GET a helicopter... but do they not realize that having a helicopter using thermal imaging to find an animal that's the SAME TEMPERATURE AS IT'S ENVIRONMENT, is how should I put it... stupid?

So strong it was able to fend off 3 fully grown men... lol
scottishbluebird Posted - 30/07/2012 : 16:49:39
omg how ridiculous can they get, a helicopter? jeeeeeeeeeeeeez
Thorne hope eveything goes ok xx

As funny as this is it there is a human cost.

I'm potentially going to get chucked outa my rental condo because the board has decided to ban reptiles as pets... no doubt as a reaction to sensationalist 'journalism' like this...

ROFLMAO. Add one foot for every pint of snake-bite he had drunk. In reality is was just a hatchling.

The Army Snatch Squads were too busy with Olympics tour of duty and were actually relieved at not having to face such a fearsome beast.
coxymk2 Posted - 30/07/2012 : 13:54:43
LOL. What would they do for a grass snake ARMED RESPONSE PMSL
Lozzy Posted - 30/07/2012 : 12:43:57
