I know this has been discussed many times, but seen as prices can change due to inflation and current times thought i'd start a new thread to ask.

I'm wondering how much everyone pays for their frozen mice and where they buy them from. I've just bought some this weekend and am beginning to wonder now mine are on medium mice would it be cheaper to buy a larger quantity or wait until they are on large.

I paid 30p per pinky - so £3 for 10 and
70p per medium - £7 for 10

both from my local shop, how does this compare to what others pay?

What do you feed a locust to?

My 12 year old tarantula, somewhat confusingly called Angel.

She isn't...

wow such a variation, i won't bother buying bulk for the likes of pinks/fluffs/smalls, as I don't have enough snakies :( to warrant this, but am definately considering it for the larger 2 especially now they're on the same size prey

I dont buy in bulk. Doesnt work out well for one snakey. I buy 5 at a time from my local pet shop (I avoid P@H).

I think my prices are as follows

Pinkies - 25/30p(tho may be less)
Fuzzies - 45p
Small - 55p

Not sure of other size prices as not bought any yet, will look when i go in next.

I buy mine in bulk and I pay

Regular mice 40p each
Large mice 50p each
Jumbo mice 55p each

I'm not sure how much delivery is though as they are close enough for me to be able to collect them :)

I dred to think what the ish rep shop here is charging now but last i knew it was 40somethingp a pinkie and £1.20 i think for a large mouse.
So with all the snakes i have i shop online, Cant rememeber what my bill was last time in all honesty as i share with a couple of other people but i use a&n if it helps, although the time before that we used a different place but as im so helpful i cant rememebr what the place was called.

My last bill for mice was

47p for a med mouse, and I got 50, £23.56
44p for a small mouse and I got 10, £4.49
58p for a large mouse and I got 25, £14.59
Delivery £5.99

Will last 5 snakes (2 growing, 3 adults although one is deiting) 6 monthish, don't like leaving stuff in the freezer for more than 6 months. It wasn't worth me buying online until I had 5 snkaes, can't wait to order 100 large mice though, will make stuff so much easier!

Pet shop near me used be 3 pinkies for £1 and large mice were like £1 each
tordyjo Posted - 14/05/2012 : 07:36:01
I have two eating the same size to 50 would last me approx 6 mths if it averages 1 a week.
boozysuzy Posted - 14/05/2012 : 07:35:28
I pay £5.49 for 10 fuzzies or 15 pinkies. As I am a new snake owner, I'm sticking with where I know I can get the food at the moment. I will probably shop around a bit once she is more settled on a size.
kev 5 Posted - 14/05/2012 : 07:30:51
you really start saving when you buy 50-100,so i'd probably wait until your snake was on large as you won't need 50 mediums before your snake moves up to large
tordyjo Posted - 14/05/2012 : 07:29:09
Won't let me edit - meant to say

to buy a larger quantity from somewhere online
