hi, i know this probably isnt the place to post but cant think where else.
basically my fiance has decided she wants bearded dragons, so off she goes to the reptile shop and seen some 'pre owned' ones. 4 females in a stacked viv setup with stairs which are 2x 4foot vivs. lots of space and more plug sockets!!!.
one is a normal dragon 2 are part yellows and one is pure yellow, the whole lot is £180 and before i could say anything they were bought.
were getting them tomorrow and was wondering .......
1/ was it worth £180?????
2/ can i have some good tips on keeping them and feeding etc.
also she has to have them cause one lost a leg to a black cricket. and she loved disabled animals, in a nice way, she feels theyre not wanted so her lovely nature takes them on.  |

Nah, in my case, the devil looks after his own! Wish the snails in my garden were edible - I'd be having fryups every night!
You know there's a slug eating snake? In America I think. |

I considered a snail once, until I looked into it and found that a vast amount of garden snails (so I'm assuming slugs as well) carry a parasite that can be deadly to hoomans.
As for the locusts, try gently frying some with some sunflower seeds and a bit of salt. It's like big winged and legged popcorn then. |

no need to fry, just pop it straight into your mouth, alive. My thinking is, if it's good enough for my reps, it's good enough for me plus when it is a dare, you have no control over these things hehe. |

I couldn't fry a live insect - suppose I could squash it first, but still ...
Having said that I feel no mercy when houseflies get into the fly-zapper.
And slugs! The only good thing about slugs is that they haven't got wings!! Can you imagine them flubbering round the light at night and going sssssss..... on the bulb??
Umm... locusts with ... oops, censored, drinks before dinner ... mmm |

One tip....if the beardies will eat locusts, and your friend is willing to pay a bit more, they don't bite like nasty crickets! Actually quite normal.
If they've just moved home, quite a lot of them will not eat for a short while.
The average seems to be around the 10-14 days without eating. I wouldn't try to force feed at all, it'll only make her feel worse and take a bit longer to feed.
I'm assuming the food offered is the same as what she was used to, and green stuff is still available for her??
