hi, i know this probably isnt the place to post but cant think where else.

basically my fiance has decided she wants bearded dragons, so off she goes to the reptile shop and seen some 'pre owned' ones. 4 females in a stacked viv setup with stairs which are 2x 4foot vivs. lots of space and more plug sockets!!!.

one is a normal dragon 2 are part yellows and one is pure yellow, the whole lot is £180 and before i could say anything they were bought.

were getting them tomorrow and was wondering .......

1/ was it worth £180?????

2/ can i have some good tips on keeping them and feeding etc.

also she has to have them cause one lost a leg to a black cricket. and she loved disabled animals, in a nice way, she feels theyre not wanted so her lovely nature takes them on.

If it lost a leg to a black crick, it must've not been looked after very well IMO.
Assuming you got the stack with it, and it's got the lights and fittings (hopefully a stat as well) then you'll have got a fairly decent buy.
It is possible to get them cheaper, but not often.
What are the dimensions of the viv in total??

As for any other info, have a looky at www.thereptilian.co.uk as that has a care sheet for Beardies, and there are a few people on there with Beardies as well that can also give a lot of info/help.

hey dude! beardies are easy to look after.
as for the price not bad the vivs alone would probably be more than that!
and did you say four beaded dragons??
as long as they get along and dont fight (so keep an eye on them) they are easy to look after,
as for feeding try crickets wouldnt know how much for four but also try meal worms (you can try and hand feed them but dont let them fight)
also for treat people give pinkies (small mice) which will mean they wont need crickets!
hope this helps out dude! but send some pictures when you have them!!
nice to look at and a double 4ft viv would look great with them running around in!
i say good luck and dont worry there a great reptile to look after!!

As treats, yes. But you'll still need crix/locusts along with plenty of greens.

Have a look on www.mybeardeddragons.co.uk for some good information. They have a forum too which is friendly and will help.
One tip....if the beardies will eat locusts, and your friend is willing to pay a bit more, they don't bite like nasty crickets! If you do want to continue with crickets make sure you have plenty of greens for them to eat. Also put half a potoato in the vivs for the crickets to eat or they will eat the dragons.

one of my beardies arent feeding, the rest eat happily, is this a common thing? and is it bad to force feed as shes underweight.

Actually quite normal.
If they've just moved home, quite a lot of them will not eat for a short while.
The average seems to be around the 10-14 days without eating. I wouldn't try to force feed at all, it'll only make her feel worse and take a bit longer to feed.

I'm assuming the food offered is the same as what she was used to, and green stuff is still available for her??

I'm just reading the book 'Leopard In My Lap' by Michaela Denis who with husband Armand filmed wildlife in the 1950s. She mentions locusts in Africa and says they are delicious fried in butter, salted, and eaten with cocktails ...

Er, think I prefer popcorn ...

Come on, go for it haha. I got some of my more reluctant lecturers at college to eat some, they were pleasantly surprised at the taste

I couldn't fry a live insect - suppose I could squash it first, but still ...

Having said that I feel no mercy when houseflies get into the fly-zapper.

And slugs! The only good thing about slugs is that they haven't got wings!! Can you imagine them flubbering round the light at night and going sssssss..... on the bulb??

Umm... locusts with ... oops, censored, drinks before dinner ... mmm
