I dont think i have mentioned this before, i havent really been concerned...
Stella has got 2 red spots on her, she had them when i got her, noticed them after a couple of weeks. She has shed 5 times with me and they are still there, i think they are growing as she grows.
They look JUST LIKE if you had got a red pen and touched it on her.
There is one about mid way down her body, and one about 8 inches further down.
They are flush to her skin and not raised at all, they look just like colouring. Could a snow corn have red spots???
I have got a couple of pics but they really wouldnt help, they are poor quality.
Thanks

Forgot to add, in have rubbed them with damp kitchen roll and it is deffinitely 'under her skin' so to speak, but doesnt look any different after a shed.
Thanks

Am not sure what to say Gaz but I am sure that someone else had this issue with their snow and it was decided that it was just some colour pigmentation (but you know how bad my memory is). Have tried to do a search on it but cant find the topic I am thinking of.
Hopefully someone will be able to put your mind at rest soon, but it does sound as though it is purely some colouration she has, if it has been there all this time and not changed despite sheds..... Wish I could help you more....

Thanks alot, Dont worry, im not too concerned.
Im fairly certain it is just pigment in her skin, but its really strange to just have 2 spots on her WHOLE body!
Thanks

you can get snows with red spots, its uncommon but not unheard of, although genetically snows shouldnt make red markings as they lack the pigments needed.. i remember chrissy had the same thing with tof - they can be classed as a separate morph to snows but cant remember the name.. its on ians viv somewhere i think |

Yes i counted about 24 but then i gave up so there was more but i couldn't be botherd to sit there and keep counting as he kept moving lol, Also a couple of green dots.
I took Romeo to a vet for his usual check-up and told the vet about his red and green dots and he said it could be a Paradox Snow.
Paradox SnowCorn Genetically a Snow corn but displaying patches of black or red, which should be impossible because snows lack the gene that creates the black pigment melanin, and the red pigment erythrin. Paradox Snows showing red are sometimes refered to as 'Ruby Freckled'. It is described in this section, as even with selective breeding it can be almost impossible to create another Paradox Snow.
Hope this helps you.
