Does anyone know of or has heard of cornsnakes having seizures or strokes. It seems ours has just had HIS second seizure - am now off to research the subject - yay for the interweb.
Snakes can suffer strokes but it's a rare thing really.
What do you mean by seizure? Does he end up on his back or side? Or was he just roaming the viv and sort of jittering as he went a long? Does he seem fine now?
Edit: Is this the same snake you've had problems feeding?
Twice now he has laid motionless and flacid with glazed eyes, this lasts for about 15-20 mins then hes off again as if nothing has happened. The first time Tink did it was about a month ago when my 6 year old was showing him off to some friends - I assumed that Shaun had dropped Tink and that Tink was concussed or stunned or something. Then this am I went to say hello and see if he had eaten (ever the optimist) and he was stuck behind his water bowl limp and lifeless with his jaw open on one side. I lifted him out and he moved a little but in an uneasy way. We took him to the southcoast exotics en route to the vets and they thought it looked like a stroke. He is fine now, if a little quieter than he has been of late.
