Here's my new little fire girl, brought her home on the 18th! She'll be a year old next weekend, just over 18 inches long at the moment. She's our first snake, so we're still getting used to her, but I'm hoping she'll feel a bit more settled after the next shed (due any day, I think, as her eyes have been cloudy for two days).
I was especially pleased to get this one as I'd been trying to snap her doing this for a couple of days:
So far, so good. We'll be adding more once we're used to handling her, etc. Thanks for looking :D |

Thank you! I initially bought her as a gift for my boyfriend, but I totally fell in love with her the second I saw her. The breeder told me that they're addictive and she was right! I'm already thinking about getting one of my own, haha! |

Ruby is an absolutely stunning looking snake Rachel....I am surprised that you actually gave her to your OH and didnt just keep her for yourself and go out and get him a different snake !!
I cant believe you already got an open mouth shot , do you know how hard and long some of us have tried to get a pic like that ??!!
She certainly looks very at home buried in her substrate and poking her head out of her hide.
I cant wait to see more pics of her after she has shed ....the more the better!

Thanks everyone! The open-mouth shot happened completely by accident- I was taking several photos in a row and got distracted by the TV while I was shooting. Didn't see her do it at all and didn't realise I'd got this shot until later when I was reviewing them on the camera. Needless to say, I was crazy excited :P And yeah, in only a week, she has very much become my snake, so I will definitely have to go and buy one for my poor OH, bahaha! |
