Hey peeps,
Our beadred dragon is moving from his 65gal aquarium to a wooden viv soon, and we're wracking our brains what to put in the big tank after he has vacated it. We have always looked at tree frogs (nocturnal though) like the red eyed etc.. and also love the setups we see and the colours and activity of the various poisoned dart frogs.
Just wondered if anyone kept or had kept them and what you think? I have noticed when looking on the net, that most photos I see of them, have them kept in something like an exo terra terraium, rather than in an aquarium. I've done a bit of research and don't see why we couldn't use the aquarium, just wondered if anyone had any tips etc..
Cheers folks, Jon
Ps: OR ideas on what we could put in there (had also though of chinese water dragon, but the thought of cleaning up after an arboreal lizard over/around water daily puts me off lol, our beardie is bad enough and he isn't up a tree lol |
Corn Snake - Bella. Bearded Dragon - Draco. Leopard Gecko - Mojo. Cat - Neo. In our family we also have: Cali King Snake, Spiny Flower Mantis (RIP), African Lined Mantis (RIP), Ghost Mantis (RIP), four Hermit Crabs, a Budgy and a Dog - Mystie... oh and a YAMAHA YZF-R1 but she's feeling a bit neglected at the moment :( |

What are the measurements of the tank?
Whites tree frogs are good little froggys. Peacock tree frogs have a downside (BTD will confirm that)
Have a looky on the 'phib site at some of the piccys and froggys on there. |

Cheers Kehhlyr, I'll have to measure it, it's at 'my house,' but i don't live there anymore lol. My brother does and the herps are ours (and the tank), so we're trying to come up with something together. I'll measure it next time I am there.
Edit: Found it on the net. It is a Juwel:
Vision 260 Aquarium Volume: approx. 260 Litres Measurements: 121 x 64 x 46 cm
Not big enough for a water dragon as it isn't tall enough I wouldn't have thought, but since we're moving our beardie into a viv (easier to get him in/out of) we really wanted to do something special with this huge tank (but not fish). |
