Hes gorgeous, looks bigger than that on the photo though.
You say you have had him less than a week, did you not leave him to settle at all?It is bes to leave them for a week with no handling or feeding. |

I think they size can vary a lot, the smallest and feeding baby I have is 11/12 inches long and it's 6 weeks old. The size varation I think is nice as that way adults can have a nice range of being 3.5ft in length all the way up to 6ft.
He looks quite chunky your snake. Maybe he other people think he's small as I guess if you got him from a shop or breeder he would have been on a maintenance diet? |

I'll weigh him again tonight & check. I admit I didn't leave him a week - he came home in his viv so the only change was us. He went for the pinkie like a good 'un & has digested it nicely so I think he must be happy :) He's very friendly & very happy to come out for a stretch & doesn't dive straight back into his hide when he goes back in the viv.

hes lovely hes probably smaller than others because he was kept on a maintainence diet which is common at rep shops.. with regular feeds and being moved onto two pinkies you'll find he grows pretty quickly |

Cornelius is beautiful and you have got some lovely pics of him considering you have only just got him! I do love his head markings.
No snake is 'textbook' regarding how they grow....you just have to have been on this forum a while to learn that ! HannahB is probably right about him having been on a maintenance diet and now that he is home with you he can begin to be fed properly and will soon grow and put on weight. He certainly looks lovely and healthy in your pics !

I re-weighed Cornelius, he is definitely 15g. However, looking at some of the baby snake photos I seriously doubt he's anywhere near the age I was told he was. At 14" and 15g he is much more like a 2-month old.
I fed him again today, took a large pinkie before I was ready for the strike so I missed grabbing the camera again! I always thought it would take some persuading to get a snake to take dead food - how wrong I was ;-)
