Hey all, I'm back, lol, been off doing lots more animal research for future buys. But anyway, Elijah finally moved upto fuzzies this Sunday just gone. I really didn't think he was big enough but after speaking with the lass in the LRS and comparing him to a couple they have in there I bought 25 fuzzies, it ook him 10 mins but he managed it. He is 21" long now and 30g. I reckon he will be in a viv by August/ September I reckon. Well I put the video up on you tube with the link below, it was abit big for my photobucket account. And here's a couple of stills from the vid as well.

I forgot to mention as well, on this particular feed he dragged the fuzzie off his feeding dish so I may have to switch to a sperate container for his dinner. He never did this with the pinkies. |

Thankyou. I was really expecting a regurge, but the woman at the LRC suggeted rolling the fuzzie in a paper towel as well to make it thinner, lol. I thought she was winding me up and that actually never occurred to me but it worked. I felt like I was going to bake a fuzzie cake, lol. All is good though, he had his last pinkies today on his 5 day schedule, so now he is on fuzzies he will be on a 6 day schedule. |

Great Vid, he looks great.lovely pattern.
I noticed he did not constrict the fuzzie at all, as a complete novice is this usual.
I got my first snake ( an Amel)3 weeks ago and Marge, strikes then throws 3 or 4 coils around her dinner and holds on for a min or two before eating.
I was also a bit worried about the size of pray and read somewere on the forum about rolling the pray abit and it seems so work, Marge is 26 inches long and on small mice with no probs, although i do roll them to thin them down abit. |

Many corns don't constrict as there is no need to. Out of my snakes, Candy will have a little squeeze every feed, casper will constrict every now and then and has done some really good ones and Reggie barely even strikes, just takes it and gulps it down.
It is also less likely that they will constrict if the mouse is just sat there waiting for them. Strange because Reggie the only one that dosn't strike and constrict won't take his fuzzy unless i give it a little wiggle first, where as the other 2 i can just drop it in and they will still go crazy. |

Elijah is quite happy to eat when it is just sitting there. To be honest I haven't tried getting him to constrict by waving the food. Plus I don't really relish the idea of inducing aggression in an animal when it's not necessary. |

I wouldn't call it aggression, its just natural instinct. |

Cool vid Mick, Elj is looking good. What exactly is a DSLR or whatever?
I don't strike feed any of mine, I just wiggle it to entice them and then drop it on a piece of kitchen roll when it's in there.
After seeing my big lad wack a mouse that I had placed in there not even touching it, and constrict it, I wouldn't like to be on the end of that! |
