I am so pleased to see you are back Gaz. Did email you via the forum....did you get it?
So glad everything has gone ok. Bet you hated having to go back to work after spending 2 weeks at home with your fiancée and your new daughter...and I bet you cant wait to get home each day.
Beautiful name and a great weight for a first baby. Hope mum and baby doing well. Give your fiancée my congratulations.
And once again, welcome back - you have been missed!

Apparently the email links on profiles don't work, so if you had tried to send an email by clicking on the link it won't get sent. You need to copy and paste the address into a different email software such as hotmail. |

Slight thread hijack (sorry Gaz ) - Mods, can you confirm whether emails sent using the forum get sent and received or not??
Back to main topic!!
It is so amazing when you hold your first baby , they seem so small and vulnerable - you worry that you will break them when you have to change their nappy and dress them. And you watch their breathing constantly, making sure they are breathing! And when they look at you with those gorgeous baby eyes you just cant resist them !
I do hope your OH is coping ok. I know how hard it is when the father goes back to work and suddenly you are having to cope with this baby by yourself...and you are still trying to figure out what each cry means, whether the baby needs feeding or changing or winding or cuddling or just needs to cry.
It is a confusing time when you feel you should be able to be a natural mum, but it doesnt come naturally. What new mums and dads need to know is that not only are they learning about being parents, but the baby is learning about being a baby - about how to feed and how to communicate (and how to manipulate you !).
Make sure you tell your OH to grab every chance to sleep she can get, whenever the baby sleeps she must rest. Dont let her worry about the housework or cleaning or anything like that. Turn the ringer off on the phone and put a sign on the front door saying 'do not disturb' and dont let her feel like she has to see people who want to see her and the baby...it is lovely showing your daughter off but it is also exhausting and she needs to decide when she is up to it and control it. And you need to control her, look after her!!
Sorry Gaz , have ramble on a bit but I really do hope you, your fiancée and Ellie-Mai are doing well....and you are getting some sleep!
