Hi guys,

We're hoping to start re-decorating the flat soon and we were wondering about the effect of fumes from decorating.

We're not too worried about using normal emulsion as most types now do not have much of an odour. However, we're looking to gloss paint all of the skirtings and doors but we're a bit worried about the fumes.

Is moving the snakes into another room which has yet to be painted sufficient, or do they ought to be out of the flat entirely when we're decorating?

I've done a couple of searches but haven't came up with anything, quite surprised that nobody has asked this before!

leave the snakes in one room, and air your house out!

Hmmm, interesting question!!

I should think that moving them into a different room and closing the doors should be enough, maybe crack a window or 2 to keep ventilation up aswell.

Thanks SB, that's what we'd thought. We're going to look for a one coat gloss and hopefully one of the more expensive brands will do a low odour version. Gloss smells really strong to us so it must be unbearable to animals with sensitive noses!

Down side is one MASSIVE turtle tank to relocate!
