Here is the viv stack me and dad are building.

It will be 4 vivs, the bottom and top around 17 inches tall, the middle two around 15 inches tall. Each viv will be 24 inches deep and 40 inches wide.

The outer body is a wardrobe from B&Q, with 2 of the shelves made into floors for the vivs. The back has been replaced with 9mm marine ply for stability, which will be sealed.

Progress so far-
The outer frame

The top floor-

Bottom floor (middle vivs not in yet)-

Glueing and tacking on the back-

Top viv with the back on-

Still to be done-
fronting, vent holes (though vents are purchased), middle partition, sealing, runners, cable holes and glass.

Yeah they are 4 inches wider and 6 inches deeper than the current vivs.

The extra floorspace is great, cant wait to start decorating.

Looks like your dad is doing a great job and nice to see that he is so committed to something you love .

Cant wait to see updated pics as it nears completion and then finally the finished product!

I would love to attempt this some day when I get more corns. It looks fab. I was just wondering though, do you get the glass specially cut to fit the size vivs that you make and do you have to get special glass?

We are getting the glass from a glazing company pre cut to size. Just normal single panel glass, nothing fancy

Are you getting toughened glass? i would have thought this would be best just to save any misshaps.

Well obviously but untoughened glass can smash or crack very easily.

Well like I said, I will see how much it costs.

2 of my vivs have non-toughened glass, and its fine.

Thanks, its nice to have the added floorspace for them, cant wait to get decorating.

I think B&Q still have the sale on for the wardrobe, might be worth buying one and saving it for the future
