Hi all,

Now this is porbably just me being a bit paranoid and there is nothing to worry about, but I have always found you guys put my mind at rest when I worry.

I have two snakes, Tiny and Snowy. Tiny sheds once a month like clock work, you could set your calender by her but I have had Snowy for just over a month now and tiny has shed twice in this time and Snowy hasn't ? she has been quiet for a while but no cloudy eyes or anything.

so my question is do some snakes shed less often than others and it is just down to the individual snake ?

Thanks in advance for all your help.

Shedding in young snakes mainly depends on growth rates- it could just be Tiny is growing faster.

also you won't notice snowy going blue as much because of the colour of her eyes. I've heard there is a change but not as obvious as in the dark eyed snakes.

But as SB said snakes shed for growth and to help any injuries so it could be that Tiny is just growing at a faster rate and therefore needs to shed more.

agreed, by experience I can say some corns grow faster than others and therefore will shed more often
