What I do is keep my whole room at the same temp as the cold side, with a electric heater & stat. Considering a 2nd heat mat though, to give a more precise temp, because these winters are getting colder and colder!

Yes get one if you're doing this for the cold end exclusively. Your heating bill will be more than the cost of a new heat mat for cold end!
Seriously though, 20-21 is ok. Obviously a degree or two would be prefered but since you have a spare stat for your electric heater you may as well spend £12 for another mat.
How to heat up the cold end?
