well I meaned screwed up in picking them. because this one doesnt seem very hot at all. like i touch it and its warm. although my digital thermometer say its 85-80. and 75-74 on the cool side. I picked the rain forest heat pad. and then there was the dessert one. but i was thinking the dessert one would get wayy to hot for the snake.

You haven't messed up don't worry.

Desert one isn't hugely different, but not as suitable for corn snakes as a rainforest one.

Seems to be hitting the right temp so nothing to worry about as long as you have decent thermometers.

The mat shouldnt feel any more than just a little warm, as it should be set below human body temperature. It will feel warm to your snake though.

how is it set up and what sort of viv are you using it in?

i think the E-T rainforest ones MUST have an air gap and even come with small 'feet' to raise the flat underside of a viv........

and i think they're ONLY suitable for glass vivs............
