Hi All,

My sons teacher collared me this morning to tell me he has been telling them lots about his new snake. She wanted to know where our snake originates from (in the wild) as they are doing a jungle topic soon.

I told her he isn't from the jungle, but she said that's ok, if I can give her more info they will be discussing lots of different animals anyway.

So I was thinking this is what I'm going to do:

I'm gonna get a scrapbook and fill it in as if it's a diary written by our little Amel, Eric.

So it will include stuff about where his "cousins" live, how he can't wait to be a grown up and how big he'll get, etc, written in a funny way that 7 yr olds will appreciate, but also be informative.

As I go I will include photo's and I think it would be a good idea to include different morphs, adult snakes as well as babies.

So if any of you have any pics you dont mind me copying then please add them to this thread, or insert a link to your pics elsewhere (ie photo's forum).

Also, any ideas for funny 'snake diary entries' either random, or to go with your own pics then please also add these.

Would you like a snake skin as well?
I still have to do a run to the post office to post things for 2 members on here (Keep forgetting, sorry) so sticking a decent sized snake skin into a jiffy bag shouldn't be a problem either.

That would be great thanks Kehhlyr, when we bought Eric he was in blue so we have a little 21" skin that he shed last Friday that my son took to school Monday so we plan on putting that one in too, but a bigger one would be better? And maybe if you can tell me the snakes name/morph that it's from?

I'll mail ya my address

Missy is 6 months old! But is already 2 foot! She is a big girl! Karma is also about 6 months and half her size but nearly as long as her.

Linky to public album, with a random selection of some of my snakies.
I shall try to find a couple of my pics of my female (the one that owns the shed) laying her eggs for you as well.

Not sure how to give you access to my photobucket account but certainly go through the 'Photo Posts' and look for Kellog's and Silvesta's pics....starting about May 2009. If there are any you can use then let me know which ones and I can email you the original. Also check out the video of Kellog's first feed outside of viv. If that is any use I can send you the full video rather than have it in 2 pieces like it had to be on here. Would be great for the kids to see a corn feed and to see the size difference between what it feeds on and the size of its head. My email address is in my profile so contact me if you can think of any other way I can help.

Think it is a fantastic idea!

xxx

Thanks for all the links... just got the scrapbook to start Erics "diary".

Pics are great thanks Gmac & Sara.

Kellog, I watched the Kellogs vid before u mentioned it here, pretty cool. Not sure the school would be that bothered to getting round to showing it tho, I'll have to ask them. Mind you I'd probably have all the parents complaining that their kids were traumatised, lol.
