I am about to order a viv 24"x15"x15" and I am getting confused about what heatmat to get for it. I thought if i got one that was a third of the length of the viv then that would be ok but those ones dont fit the width so there would be cooler parts at the edges. Also, there are different wattages for the same size heatmats.
I know i am being dumb but can someone help me to choose the right size and wattage heat mat? Also do you put the heatmat inside a wooden viv or underneath like you do with a plastic faun? i would have said underneath but want to make sure.

i think the closest would be 11x11 dont worry about the gap it will be fine. heat mats go inside a wooden viv with some lino over the top or i use a floor tile as it hold heat and saves elecy

For that size viv i would go for a (11" x 11") should be a perfect size for it.

Thanks guys. That means I havent had to order a different mat as the one iv been using will fit. I was wondering if snakey would get burnt putting it in the viv but good tip on using lino to cover it. Would it be better to have a piece of lino covering the whole bottom in case snakey decides to go burying underneath it or have you found they dont bother with it?
