I have been browsing cornsnake forums/websites and i came across a cornsnake morph which i really like the look of.
Its been shown as being Lavender Strip Het Hypo, now i'm not a cornsnake expert so can anyone tell me if this the definitive name for this colour/type of morph so i can find one please?

i have a lavender stripe
lavenders are stunning anyway (in my opinion!) - lex corns has a lavender vanishing stripe but i dont know how much it is if that helps - it has the start of a stripe but it then fades away towards the end of the snake
this is my guy Edison
hes really bright at the moment so should be interesting to see how his colours change as he gets older - hes about 6/7months at the moment |

lavender stripes and quite a few other stripe morphs fade a lot as they grow older so you dont always see the stripe clearly by the time they are full grown.. |

Thanks to those that replied. I'm still looking for someone to confirm that its definately a Lavender Vanishing Stripe/ Normal Stripe. There doesn't seem to be all that many really informative websites where you can see what snakes they currently have and what they are planning to produce. When will we start to see the 2010 hatchings start coming through.? Is there a post or website that actually lists the snake breeders we have in the UK? |

who is the breeder advertising it? id say it is but im sure eeji will confirm it for you.
www.hissnhers.co.uk is a great breeder - sue is where i got my lav stripe from and she has a list of predicted hatchlings for next year just had a look on her website and shes hoping for a lav stripe or two when the hatchlings start pipping which is usually in spring next year, |

Well i'm definately going to get myself one of these. Putting my wishlist together for the breeders and hopefully someone will sort me out. I've been quoted £300 for the one at Lex corns, but going to need to shop about as my impatience normally costs me more than it should In the mean time i've got myself a ghost stripe, again to me it looks stunning. Pictures will follow. And please if you know anymore good breeders that might have this Lavender Stripe then give me a shout. |

yeah this year danny - still living in 2009!
snow stripes develop a really bright yellow stripe as they mature.. lavenders colours depend on the gender - it seems that males tend to be brighter than females, they turn an almost pale silvery grey with a visible stripe - you can see it in the pic as the whitish stripes between the silvery grey shade
sue is lovely - had a nice chat with her at donny - very nearly came away with a few extra snakes lol!! |

What combination of snakes would you need to produce/breed this lavender stripe morph? |

probe a lavender male and female both het for stripe or two lavs male and female both stripe. lavender is a single morph. so you dont breed anything to another to get that morph. |

Is this sound advise, as i'd love to get a pair of snakes to try and breed some of these? |

its the easiest way to get a few stripes but if there are any extra hets (other genes for other morphs) they may influence the outcome.. in snake breeding theres no guarantee of what outcome you will get if there are extra hets that you dont know about |

So i've been in contact with Sue at hisnhers and she has been very helpful. What i'm now looking for are female hatchlings for a possible breeding project in the future:-
100% pure lavender Stripe Lavender het for stripe
Now again im not a professional snake keeper and i dont know the majority of breeders or shops that may have these or if indeed its just the wrong time of the year to be shopping around. But even if in the end they didn't breed i just so want some of the snakes
So if you know who has some or if indeed you have some yourself let me know. Putting myself down on breeders lists for these guys as i guess they're hard to find.
Is importing these guys from the US in small quantites something that is done by the private breeders in the UK?
Hoping for some favourable replies. |

i know i shouldnt be advertising other forums but iansviv has a lot of breeders on there who deal with the fancy breeds..i remember quite a few of them were expecting lavenders..pure, with hets, normal lavs, motleys and striped
Umpa if thats aimed at me then yes..i paid just under £300 for my boy |
