Ok being new to this malarky I am learning as I go along. I am loving iansviv and am beginning to think of a shopping list already. However, can someone please explain to me what hets are? I'm guessing its something to do with the the crossing of different morphs and genetics but not sure. How do hets effect colours and markings?
Is there anywhere I can learn more about it if it's too long-winded to go into on here?

Thanks

Het means that the snake carries another gene, but it is not visible. You could have a normal het for motley. The snake would appear as a normal, but it would have the motley gene to pass on to the next generation.

Sorry, this is a bit vague sounding, hopefully eeji will be along later to explain a bit better.

P.S: Yay, another Kizzy!

Have a read of this:

http://www.theroyalpython.co.uk/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=187

Its based on Royal Pythons but the meanings are the same. Almost all Corn genes are recessive.

Hopefully that will make sense.

Great link BE! Much easier when you see it like that. It's really quite difficult to put into words...
