Sorry for sounding like a newbie here, but what is MOTLEY?

Is it a moph? Or is it a pattern type? Like Stripe?

If it is a pattern like I suspect, what do you call the ‘normal’ pattern.

I love Caramels, but ive seen ‘Caramels’ and ‘Caramel Motleys’. I see a lot of ‘Butter Motleys’ too.

Hope someone can shed some light on this, im struggling with the whole morph thing and have done a lot of research.

Thanks

Motley is a pattern i think if the snake is normal patterned then you just call it by its morph i.e. Butter.
so if its got anyother pattern than normal it would be the morph "Butter" and then the pattern "Motley" so it would be called a "Butter Motley" .. i so hope that makes sense

The motley stripes above are just motleys, a stripe is something else entirely.

its a pattern morph that 'joins' the saddles making a circle pattern. Its very variable though, and can look anything between pretty much normal to a near full stripe. In all cases, motleys have no belly pattern ;)
