I am certainly no expert on snakes but from the advice here I feed my snake in a RUB (Rather Useful Box) with a lid and air holes. I was adviced to do this for 2 reasons- firstly- so that the snake does not ingest any of the substrate and secondly so that snake doesnt automatically think Food when you put your hand in the Viv! When she has eaton I leave her 10 mins or so- then to get her back into her VIV I open the viv doors- open the lid almost like a door- so that the lid is towards me and my snake just slithers back into the viv!
Ive copied the link below from the questions I asked- there is quite a lot of information in there :)

Hope that helps you abit!

I just wait until the mouse has reached where it's supposed (about mid snake) then lift and put snake back in box.

The Hawk prefers to let snakey slide out of box.

I think that as long as you take care to do it gently, you're fine either way.

Dont think it is wise to lift the snake in the middle when that is where its dinner is....better to support it one third down from head and same from tail, and gently move it to the viv - no extra handling of course!!

I noticed a few people have mentioned putting air-holes in the feeding RUBS, how essential are these? Do they need air holes even if they are only in there for 15-20 mins?

Thanks
