I also assumed that the foot had just ruptured through, but it's an interesting piccy/article anyway.

In regards the legal bit Meggi, are you refering to killing it??

If so, I understand what you mean, unfortunately sometimes it's safer to kill a snake than it is to try to capture it, because a vast amount of people cannot tell the difference between venomous and non-venomous.
In fact, a huge amount of Cornsnakes are killed yearly because at a quick glance with their (often) bright colours most are mistaken for venomous.

I read somewhere (can't remember where though) that apparently if there weren't so many corns in captivity, then they'd probably be on an endangered list.
