hiya!
the heat mat should be in the viv at 1 end with a thermostat (you dont want a cooked snake!)you may have to take the plug off so that you can thread it through the vent in the viv then rewire put some substrate over the mat and there you go!! xx

If you aree using a heat mat, you will need a thermostat. Search for a Habistat Mat Stat. This will stop the heat mat getting to hot. You plug the mat into the stat, and the stat into the wall.

Are you trying to heat a wooden vivarium or a plastic faunarium?

If you have a wooden viv then it is as ookami said, if it is a plastic faun then it goes underneath the faun, plug it in the thermostat and then plug the thermostat in the wall. A mat stat is cheaper but i think a pulse stat is better as it keeps the temps constant.

No question on here is regarded as a 'blonde question' or a silly question! It is much better that you ask and get an answer than not ask and do the wrong thing or keep on worrying!

To certain forum members (naming no names but you know who you are)No blonde jokes please!!

yes i agree better to ask than make a costly mistake.i myself never knew new much about snake keeping and it was a continuing learning process(still is).remember corn snake keeping is reletively new and growing compared to other pets.
