Hi,

When doing the daily checks/water changes this morning, we noticed something poking out of Ziggy's substrate(currently kitchen roll). Upon further investigation we discovered that he had left us a complete shed!

We're really pleased he's shed ok as he had a little bit of rub nose when we got him, but his nose looked fine last night. You can see the red nose still on the old skin.

We're hoping to measure his shed tonight and post some pictures!

Hopefully Kizzy won't be too far behind him and hopefully she'll leave us a complete one too!

Now the only problem we have is where to keep it in case we don't get another for a while!

Gave kellog's 1st full shed since being with us to a friend of my son's, who was desperate to have it. Since then we have only had torn sheds! So no full shed of our own to keep - yet! xxx

i kept my snakes first shed in a carrier bag on top of the kitchen cupboards if you get them fresh you can measure them at straight lenghth with out them breaking but as they shed reguarly i dont see much point in holding on to them Though i did see someone had actually made stockings out of them not my kinda thing though it was in america.

I'm sure Kellog will give you a full shed soon! We've managed to measure the shed as best we can and it came out as 40cm but still wasn't completely straight - don't want to break it! (I managed to break one of Georgina the Housegecko's tail sheds very easily... I think we were very lucky to get a piece of gecko shed as they tend to eat them...)
I think I'm going to find a shoebox and wrap the shed in plastic or paper to keep it from breakage. We think Ziggy is around 13-14 inches when you subtract 10% from his total shed length.

No sign of Kizzy shedding yet. We've put a rough edged disinfected milk carton lid in for her to rub on as she only has toilet roll tubes for hides at the moment while Ziggy has a proper exotera hide which is quite rough for him to rub on. (The downside of planning to get one snake and returning with 2!) She'd managed to put the lid in her waterbowl this morning though and her tank was soaking! Little so and so! Had to replace all kitchen towels and both hides! Good job we have plenty of loo roll tubes!
