The word that is blanked out is the opposite of fine, and is similar to rough. No idea why its blanked, unless I've really spelt it wrong...

It is because the last 4 letters spell a word for the rear end! xxx

I saw it and I spoke to them about it at the June show. Its an alternative to Aspen, but they don't sell it in bales yet so I can still get Aspen cheaper.

I had a look at this, but as Blackecho said aspen is cheaper and I couldn't see any real difference unless someone wants to point out anything i'm missing.

I've finally got around to using this substrate now.

Surprisingly one large bag was enough for my 3ft x 18" viv. All though the subsrate is the largest they produce I still think its too fine for using with juveniles, it won't hurt Monty though. I'll have to see how it performs but he seems to like it.

It just looks like hemp to me... did they tell you what it actually was as hemp can be picked up for far less than aspen.

Flax looks similar as well and is similarly priced.
