Hi,
First post on here. Seems like a friendly forum and I've learned a lot so far reading the older posts.
I so want a corn snake (Narrowed down to Abbots Okeetee, Hypo or Sunkissed I think. Maybe Bloodred)
First question. How can I persuade my OH that she wants one too? Thing is I work on an Oil Rig for a fortnight at a time so it's gotta be as much her responsibility as mine.
Second question. Whats the deal with the 1.0.1 etc at the bottom of peoples sig's?

SB. There's no way she'll believe that.
I have a perfectly normal irrational fear of spiders.
My wife's the one that has to deal with spiders in the house as it is. LOL
SB. I see from the members map you're from just north of aberdeen. Can you recommend any local reptile shops?
Was thinking of trying to get the wife in to East Coast Exotics as they do handling sessions. Any good?
You can PM me if you don't want to slate any shops in public.

east coast is very good, small but Jodie (the resident snake head) is very experienced. there is another shop near the beach which also sells exotic fish- not good at all- had tortoises and pygmy hedgehogs in together, and dead lizards left in with live ones. avoid at all costs and the main manny is also pretty agressive. |

Good luck convincing the OH. The handling bit is definitely key, that's what worked for us, we went to a petting zoo that had a decent reptile section and they had some hatchlings. After seeing them, we were convinced and a week later we bought Eddie. Seriously women are softies... it's easy to convince us you just need to know what to use as leverage! lol |

Good luck Gaz, hopefully it'll work for you....... Let us know the out come?!
My misses has agreed that I'm allowed a Beardie at home, once we have a bigger house! Now depending on your misses reaction, I may bring one home one day without her knowing (if I find the right one) I mean, she agreed in principle right?!
Love the responces guys lol |

I remember when I first got ill and was bedbound for most of the time, I was 17. My dad conspired with his brothers to bring down from Yorshire a ****atiel (which is where they are from and used to breed birds). Only problem is my mum hates birds! They smuggled it into the garage when they first arrived and you could hear this bird squawking all through lunch. They kept saying how there must be an escaped pet somewhere in the garden. I didnt know anything about it until I walked into my bedroom later and there was Frankie in a beautiful cage, ready to keep me company while I was ill (we didnt know then I would still be ill 20 years later!). By the time mum found out there wasnt much she could do - cos she couldnt confiscate a present from a sick girl could she?!! She refused to come into my room ever again, but I took that as a bonus! xxx |
