Hi. Corns dont need any lighting. Make sure you have 2 hides for the snake, one over the heat mat and one off of it. Is the heat mat running through a thermostat? You will need a thermostat to stop the mat from overheating and burning the snake. How are you measuring the temp and what are you using as substrate?
I reccomend reading the caresheet on the homepage. |

hey and welcome make sure you have a hide in each end and that the heatmat is regulated by a thermostat to avoid snakey getting too hot lights arent essential for snakes - lights are generally used for our benefit of being able to see them better (generally if snakes are kept in wooden vivs) look forwards to seeing pics |

Hi and welcome. If you check out the care sheet you will see how experienced the minds are behind this forum, so its a great place to come for advice which has a number of experienced owners willing to answer what you may think is the silliest question. You also get great support, with friendship and fun added in. Cant remember if it mentioned this on the care sheet (been a while since I read it) but make sure you leave your snake for a week without handling or feeding, this gives it a chance to get over the stress of a move and settling into a new place as well as getting used to your smell when you change the water and straighten the substrate. Were you given it as a present? Does it have a name? Am looking forward to seeing some pics at some point. xxx |

Welcome to the forum. Any chance of pictures of snakey?
I believe that for your snake it's every 5 days. Take a look at the sticy posts in the general keeping section, there is a lot of additional information in there, including a mouse size guide.

if your snake is around 8months old he should be on something bigger than pinkies.. try him on the next size mouse for a few weeks to see how he goes..im thinkin he should be on the next one up from fuzzies..i think thats right anyway.. |

That is fantastic news garfy, her eating the fuzzie and shedding well. Sounds as though you are on the right track to getting her up to her right size and healthy....she is blessed to have you as her owner - a caring owner finally! xxx |

Hiya and welcome. Never be afraid to ask questions. No matter how silly they sound. And good luck with your snake. |
