I have just checked my bank account online and found someone has been takeing money out of my account!!!! Just got back from the bank, they have cancelled my card and sending me a new card.
Im so annoyed people takeing my money!!! Im trying so hard not to swear on here at the mo. OHHHH it annoys me this is the second time it has happend to me it really grrr's me off.
So untill I get my new card, I have to go into the bank to get my money out which will cause me more inconviniance just cos someone wanted to steal £30 from me!!!

How did they do it?

Have they cloned your card?

It looks that way the woman said it was a card transaction. The only cash point I have used was on a garage forcourt, which I have used many times before!! What puzzles us is that when I buy online I have Halifax secure where I have to put a password in for the transaction to go through, so now Im wondering If my computer has bee hacked, But Im running Kespersky on it which Is ment to protect against that sort of thing?

same happened to my OH, got back from a music festival to find that someone in Miami had spent $117 in Baby Gap. only found out because the bank rang him to do a routine fraud check. dont have much to say in favour of banks but very grateful to the bank in question for noticing the odd transaction. card was cancelled etc. and all fine now. but ggrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr indeed!

what upsets me more is the fact that whoever stole the money was a mother/father... and should therefore know better. a stupid teenager I could understand, but a parent!!!!

we still dont know how the details of the account were taken, but it could easily have been done by a dodgy cash machine at the fest. my mac is pretty much hack proof.

They are really sneaky how they get the details - sometime you never know how they did it.

Do you use your card in shops? Sometimes all it takes is a dodgy employee

Garage forecourts are one of the worst places for cloning cards, i would never use any card in one

always use card in shops, dont tend to keep cash on me as its tempting to spend it, because it is readily accessible!

The garage forecort has loads of cameras and one on the cash point its self, and as I have used it many times before I thought it would be ok, obviously I was wrong. I do use my card in shops and its usually the same ones and the same people. So its either I have been cloned or hacked, But i cant see it being hacked as I have security on my laptop. I am a bit calmer now, and its being sorted. I think Im lucy this time as last time my whole account had been wiped out!

Tha last time it happened was when I was with a diffrent bank. Im keeping an eye on my account now, make sure it dont happen again! By reading your posts it sems its happening more now than when you had to sign for things, and they said chip and pin would be safer!!!

Chip and pin isnt safer, my daughter buys stuff on her boyfriends card as she know his pin, wouldnt be able to do it if you had to sign. In america when chip and pin came out fraud went up.

Have been caught out by a website that was exact duplicate of my banks, which comp went to when I put in web address. Was asked for access id and full password (which I should have realised was dodgy but didnt), just carried on and then couldnt get onto normal next page. Finally contacted bank after trying about 3 days and they told me what was going on. Couldnt believe it - the website was exact duplicate to bank's! Was stupid when I was asked for full password. Luckily nothing was touched in accounts so changed everything before there was a problem. Dont think our money is safe anywhere, except under our mattress!! xxx
