I fed Cash today. Followed the exact routine as I always do. He struck, coiled, and swallowed the prey as usual. I left him to it as I always do but when I went back later I noticed he'd regurged his prey! He's never done that before but what happend next is even stranger. I went into retrive the prey and he struck at it coiled and proceeded to swallow it again!
He's coiled up in his hide as he always does after a feed and looks fine. I'm just wondering why he regurged earlier and why he went after the prey item again?
Prey item and size we're as usual and the settings in the viv haven't changed in anyway! All very odd................

Yes. I always watch him eat. It was warm to start with!! Never seen a snake regurge and then take the same item again! I'm guessing something must have spooked him first time around but that doesn't explain him having a second go. I would normaly leave him a couple of days and re try ( always with a fresh prey item!)but I didn't get chance, he was just to quick for me. Very freaky..........

Did the limbs of the prey lie flat against the body?

Yes, he took it head first with limbs downwards classic feeding postion. And before anyone asks it was thourghly deforsted and then warmed in a sealed bag in hot water. Then checked with a digi prob (37C). There was no subtrate present and it was handled with tongs! I guess its a bit of a mystery. It was over 8 hours ago now and he seems happy enough.....still very odd...

I would hope that the time from feeding 1st time to regurge to 2nd feed would be quick enough that he wont be effected by eating 'cold' prey. Interesting question matty. xxx
