I really can't decide on this one, I really like Royals, Mexi Blacks and Pueblan Milk Snakes. This week its the Mexi Black that is winning - all hypothetical though as I'm quite happy with just one snake and its only since joining this forum I started to think about a second. |

sorry to pinch topic Brads; but would anyone consider DWA?
When I'm older, (around 30 ) I would have plenty of experience, and will research into getting one. But there are some serious risks. |

I'd like to have some sort of beauty snake, I saw a taiwan in a shop up the road, and that was lovely. But they also had some bright green Tree Boas, but I don't have the knowledge for either yet.......
In regards DWA, I'm with GP, In some ways I'd like to, but it's having the mass of knowledge and experience BEFORE getting a DWA, plus the snakes you'd end up getting would be more ornamental than anything else, and I just couldn't deal with not being able to handle them a lot. A vast amount of local councils want you to keep the local fire services/police/paramedics notified as well due to risk to themselves in an emergency.
Don't you have to have a DWA for specific animals now as well? in the sense you'd have to have one for each dangerous animal. Or am I wrong? |

I plan on getting a Brazilian Rainbow Boa in the future, but for the time being I can't provide the proper housing for it...Someday when I settle down and quit moving all over the place, I'll get one :) |

Wow, Good question.
Obviously Id like my all time favorite snake - Black Headed Pythons. Would also like
Radiated Rat Snakes Northern Pine Snake Mock Viper And if space wasnt an issue a nice Normal colored Burm.
In response to Hilzi's DWA question. After watching 'I was bitten' I wouldnt consider venomous snakes. I would only want a DWAL for a Gila Monster. Would love to see some venomous snakes out in the wild though.

Yes I would definately have to install draft excluders on my doors; make the beware of snakes signs.. whatever the requriements for a dwa before I get.
However if I settle down and start a family in the next 10-15 years then dwa's are a NO-NO.
I would like a bull snake aswell |

That is what I guessed DWA meant.

I am with Kehhlyr here. No matter how beautiful they may be I would rather get something I could handle and not have a fear of...because no matter how experienced or knowledgeable you are there must be an underlying fear of being bitten. Not a snake to relax with.

I'm not allowed anymore snakes
Not too bothered anyway- I've got all the ones I wanted. The rainbow boa completed my wish list and the apricot pueblan completed Lewy's list, so our next snake will be a frog |
