Wow good job on finding him!!
I would have a check for how he got out the viv to stop him getting out again, they can fit through tiny holes!
I've heard if their head can fit through a gap their body can follow...

0.1.0 normal corn snakey (Acorn!)
0.1.0 Border collie cross (Molly)
0.1.0 Cat (Tess)
0.5.0 Japanese quails (Belle, Ariel, Nala, Beauty, Mary Poppins)

If everything was shut and sealed then you must have a hole big enough for him to get through. Better get it sealed to stop it happeneing again.

The snake would'nt know how to fight back against the hampster, as it doesnt fight to get its food like it does in the wild, it gets in stuffed under its nose. the snake wouldn't know what to do while the hampster bit down on snakey.

Glad you found him Paul, make sure you shut the lid happens to the best of us, LOL.

can't say its happened to me yet. It's always double check and check again! I even have to wedge the feeding tongs in the gap on my perfecto where the lock is supposed to go and i test it myself!

Its a little slot on the side of the viv at the top, and when you close the viv by sliding the lid in, a little loop goes through the slot

Good job pauljono glad you found him safe.

I remember one of my old snakes escaping and we turned the house upside down and couldnt find him. I gave up on him thinking him gone forever .....
but 6 months later we was reunited when he was found in the back garden alive & well and we all lived happily ever after

So many snakes seem to be going missing from forum members....could there be a snakenapper working his way through us all....but luckily he failed with pauljono - maybe he was scared away...... or is it just my conspiracy theories going into overdrive???
