Here's a piccy of my tank, after sticking in the extra light I got from BlueTongueDan.
The light itself is in the top left hand side of the tank.

When I re-plant the tank in the next few days, it probably wont look as good though, due to the plants blocking some of the light.

When I went down the dump yesterday, just to see what was there, they had this display cabinet there.
4 stacks high, with toughened glass sliding doors. Nice and solid unit.
Tenner!! It took me all of about 1/2 a second to say I'd have it.

There is small clips in the tops of each section, joining them together, so I can move the shelved cupboard to the bottom with no difficulty.
Now I just need to convince the other half to let me fill it!!

Wow, What a bargain.
Nice find
The light looks cool in your tank! You can get some sort of adapter thing so you can run 4 of them off one plug socket. They also come in different colors

I always recommend a trip down the tip.

You can always find some decent stuff.

That's unusual that your local tip wont let you take anything Lee2308, most usually have the small section where you can buy the half decent stuff that comes in.

I do believe you are correct, However...

'Household waste recycling centres' are allowed to ask for a 'donation' if you want to take things from there.

But I still for the life of me cannot see the difference between the local dump and the recycling centre.

The one in Christchurch is a recycling centre, the one in Bournemouth is a dump, yet aside from layout they seem the same.

i think the rule is, once the item enters the skip it is property of the skip owner but a private sale between the company and the person throwing away may be ok

At the end of the day though, i'm not to fussed.
The whole thing cost a tenner, that's like going without coffee for 2 days. I could do that. *twitch*

Not many places that you could pick up something that good, for that price.
And how many people have heard the phrase 'One mans rubbish is another mans gold'.

Good find Phil, as i live 2 mins from Lee the same rules apply you cant take anything fron the dump, they're really strict about it too. We use Freecycle alot and you can get some mint stuff for nowt - got the girls some chunky pine bunkbeds this week.

Is Mrs Kehhlyr still letting you take on rehabs cases? only i have 3 corn hatchlings still not feeding at a month old - all i've got in um is a small mouse tail each and i'm down your way tomorrow. nudge nudge.

I would take them on for you for a bit, but unfortunately I'm out tomorrow from 10am (ish)

Out of curiosity, what time are you down this way? You're heading over to swanage aren't you?
