I thought I'd start the thread off about ideas for compo.
Give lucifer a chance to decide on what to have as the compo, providing it isn't to awkward, and given the time that people have.
I.E, a mouth open one, like we had ages ago could take more than a week for some people, so I think would be to hard.
Anyways, this thread is where to stick ideas on how to have the compo.
- Messages going out to inform people what the compo is, when it starts and how long for.
Add more if you think they'll be useful, then we'll go through them soon. |

snakes in strange places perhaps? think we would get some very strange shots :p |

I was gonna leave the compo idea(s) up to Lucifer, because he won the last one.
I was gonna try to keep this thread on ideas of HOW to have the compo. |

And deff for all reptiles not just snakes
Oooo and while we are running with ideas for the comps, how about from the next comp a small graphic or logo for people's sigs when they win. I've seen quite a few pet related forums do this and because the person obviously posts elsewhere in the forums it can lead to people checking out the photo comps more?

Although the last compo was titled 'summer snakes', it was afterwards that I realised that it was unfair to general rep, so I did change it in the main section to be for all reps. We did have beardie pics in the compo.
It's when it was better organised that it was for corns only, but there was also prizes then. (proper ones, not just knowing you won )
But so far we've got it for:
- Compo times announced better
- Compo to be for all reps
- Compo to be a photo you've taken yourself

How about a more regular schedule? if things happen on the same date it's Harder to forget or get confused.
For example
Comp starts 1st of the month,
closes to entrys 20th
voting closes 28th
winner to chooses new topic by the 1st
Not saying it would have to be those dates but it may be easier for people? (ie me coz i'm rubbish and keep forgeting to get snapping) |

| Definitely agree to having longer than a week to get pics because if you only have one snake and it is feed time or shed time you are very limited to photo time! Also would suggest more noticeable advertising, for comp and for voting - maybe a banner on main forum page (not sure if thats poss). Love comp idea but will remind you that we have a few young members now!!! Lol!! xxx |

| Do agree a bit with Blackecho, as this is a corn snake site and surely ifs fairer if everyone who enters is dealing with the same 'problems' regarding handling, posing etc. Also a question, I know it is not a serious competition and just some fun but is it a photographic comp or are we just being judged on the picture? Does that make any sense at all??? Sorry, trying to think of better way to put it but brain not functioning. xxx |

If the competition was very popular/busy we could exclude everything but corns. But it isn't as busy as we would like/want at the moment imo so do we want to discourage people from posting pictures? |
