My step sis came over yesterday and asked to see my new snakes.
I brought them to her in their little rubs and picked Isolde up to show her. I put Isolde back and hatchlings being very fast my step sis thought she was going to get out and put the lid down quick. Isolde ended up getting hurt by the lid, i looked at her and she seemed ok, was moving. so i thought leave her the night and see how she is in the morning. So this morning and looked at her and her right eye is enlarged and a blue colour as if she were in shed. Shes also striking at everything atm, but im not suprised she must have had a right shock. I was going to take her to the vets, but the vets by me are useless with reptiles, so there is really no point going to them. My step dad said that we should leave it a while and see how it turns out, as he doesnt think a vet could do anymore than we could. I'm not so sure. What do you guys think? and could she go blind in that eye? |

Fingers crossed.
I'd agree with step-dad... I don't think a vet could help here. It's a pain but I think you're going to have to wait & see how things turn out.

 Aww poor Isolde. I'd give it a couple of days - but if it doesn't seem much better after that I'd def take her to the vet for a check up hun, even if they're not particularly rep-friendly they should know what to do if there's any potential problems, or at least know where to refer you. Hope she's ok xx |

the amazing colour of the cornsnake, as it glides through the feild, never a mistake
so as not to wake
the hapless prey before it, this may as well roll over and close it's eyes as the silent hunter shall always get his prize.
the forked tounge can smell you mouse,red eyes can see you stir, if she does not wake and run now, that will be the end of her. |

she had a shed today, and thank god her eye looks clear, it looks much better. Very happy, was abit worried for awhile!
I'm going to leave it a few more days and try her on her first feed with me, i held off feeding her after the whole eye thing, hopefully she'll be ok to feed in a few days.
