You all know what a relief it is to have him eat - but he has only done it once, am still nervous that it will be a one off (I know, neurotic owner!) |

beautiful snakie!!! luv the 1st pic! |
the amazing colour of the cornsnake, as it glides through the feild, never a mistake so as not to wake the hapless prey before it, this may as well roll over and close it's eyes as the silent hunter shall always get his prize. the forked tounge can smell you mouse, red eyes can see you stir, if she does not wake and run now, that will be the end of her. |

Yes, every 5 days for 13 weeks I offered him a mouse and when he didnt take it I left it in overnight, but it was always there the next morning. Until last week!!! And he fed again today...beautiful strike (was so worried his first feeding was a one off!) |

I know the 'profesionals' are better to answer this but I've heard that they can go 6 months, but that depends on age and size and you need to eliminate any possible problems that might be stopping the snake eating. Main thing is not to panic! (Wow, I actually sound like I know what I am talking about!) You'll get the right answers here on the forum, they are great! xxx |

Kellog due his third feed tomorrow. He had been on ex-large mice with previous owner but she had run out and had been feeding him large, which is what we continued to do - 2 successful feeds now. Tomorrow will be the first day with the extra-large, just have to wait and see if he handles it. xxx |

My 12yr old son, Jos, has just fed Kellog an extra-large mouse (or whatever the size up from large is). Was very interesting cos he struck in gap between hide and open glass door, coiled and one of his coils rested up on edge of viv. His strke wasnt perfect so he repositioned and as he did the coil moved further and further till it was nearly falling out of viv! My husband put his hand beneath it, to catch if needed and coil rested on his hand. When Kellog straightened up vertically to swallow rear end and tail he did it sitting on hubby's hand! Quite happy. Even had a look round with about a cm tail poking out before we 'encouraged' him back into viv - he didnt want to go! Is now in hide and happily looking out opening. xxx |
