Today is Lucien's first feed in his new home since he left the shop a week ago, I'm really quite nervous! Left the pinkie outside his hide and watched from a distance for 5 mins, nothing yet so made the room dark and will leave him alone for an hour now. |

Mate the best way to feed I find is to place them in a plastic box then hand the pinky in front of them with tweezers! This way you get a nice strike, and get to watch all the action lmfao! |

I have a set of long medical tweezers I used to move the mouse slightly in front of his hide but he didn't come out.
Being his first week with me thought I would leave him in his viv don't want to stress him too much. |

Woop woop one happy snake owner, the towel over the viv worked.
I pulled it off slowly and not only had the pinkie been eaten he had ventured up to the 3rd level of his viv for the first time . |

May be better to just leave the pinkie in there and leave him to come out and get it of his own accord being as this is his first feed, just because there will be so many different smells still new to him and he'll still be shy. In my experience it doesn't matter if you dangle it for them to strike or just leave it in the enclosure, I always did this with my babies then began letting them strike for their prey as they got older and more confident in their new homes Good luck with it x |
