My little girl, three years old passed today. We have he'd her since she was a worm and loved he so much. We ha her in temporarily with a male snake (we didn't know he was male) for a couple of weeks while we were space stressed. A few weeks later she laid eggs. After that, she seemed healthy and ate a meal. But then she started to act strange. Barely moving, acting floppy and showing no interest in the world. We talked to people about her but the concencus was that she was depressed or she was missing her eggs. So, we dutifully tried to feed her every few days after for six weeks. She never once ate. The ha had the right temperature and plenty of water. I don't understand where we went wrong and failed her, she should have been looking forward to a long life as a loved family pet.

Sorry for your loss She won't have been depressed, they don't have feelings like that. It's likely she was just exhausted after the eggs, but you could get a PM to get to the bottom of things |

I'm so sorry. It's obvious how loved she was and she was blessed to be cared for by you for most of her life.
As ScalySituation said, she won't have been missing her eggs or depressed. Snakes don't have the brain capability for those emotions. In the wild they would lay eggs and then abandon them. There are no 'mothering' instincts. It does sound as though something went wrong after she had laid her eggs. It may be that she didn't manage to lay them all. Unfortunately there's no way of knowing without a pm.
Please try to focus on her life with you rather than her death. I'm glad that you have another corn snake that you can love as much as you loved her.
Xxx
