Ordered calci worms for a wee change for Masuka. They came in a plastic tub inside a box but lots of them were outside the plastic tub in the cardboard box!
Can they climb? Will they get out a mealie bowl?
I'm now too scared to store them in the cupboard incase I wake up to them all over the kitchen. I'll try post a pic of the tub. Surely they shouldn't be able to escape it?! Or is it just they were chucked about in the post??? |

I've taped the top so if they can climb and get out, they now can't (I hope) Def couldn't have got out the holes made for air

Ok, so I woke up this morning and am not infested by bugs or flies. I am alive!
They must have just got chucked around in the delivery!

LOL!! So cruel, laughing at my fear haha! I don't mind bugs so long as they stay where they're supposed to be.
I honestly had fears of waking up to a bug covered kitchen......
On another note, apparently they can climb if they're 'wet' but not when dry. So I'm going to pat them dry from the substrate they're in at the moment, then pop them in the mealie bowl and hope for the best lol. Hopefully he likes them, he's def starting to slow down on food at the moment, still eating but not as much! Must be the drop in temps I think. Maybe these will entice him |

Pat them dry in kitchen roll I should say, not just pat them like a dog lol |

Thought you'd gone from terrified of an infestation to petting the little beasties for a moment!
All I can say is.....ugghghghhg, but thank you for the shivering, cringing giggle it gave me

You have to be careful with those, I heard that they are like gremlins if they eat over night. You may wake up to find them on your bed lying next to you sizing you up ;) |

To be honest, live bugs are the main reason I don't have lizards!
Dead mice, fine, live creepy crawlies? I've enough of them in my house as it is

We went on holiday to the Norfolk Broads about 5yrs ago. It was early in my son's fishing hobby and he still had a few things to learn. I can't remember how it happened but I do vividly remember waking in the morning, reaching out to get my pot of pills that I'd got ready the previous night and finding a maggot had joined the drugs!! And there were a number of maggots on the floor and elsewhere as well. He got a firm talking to about controlling his maggots .
Xxx
