Hi all, Just wondering if I am normal worrying about my little snake who is coming into his second shed? I have postponed his feed until he has shed - buried himself all week and been zombie eyed, now in warm hide and eyes clear so expecting something to happen in next day or so as this was pattern last time. All temps etc are fine - increased humidity slightly by putting damp kitchen roll over hide which worked well before with complete shed.
Basically does everyone still worry about them or does it get easier? Didn't expect to be so emotionally attached to the little guy! I worry more about him than all the other animals I have had! Is this normal?

Thanks - that's reassuring. I will look forward to seeing him in his new clothes instead of fretting! |

Yes, it's normal as a new owner to worry, and yes you do get used to it and stop worrying about things! |

You've all just been proved right. Lovely clean shed tonight followed by a fluff that went down very quickly and a long drink and a big poop! He's now tucked up digesting after such a busy day. I will be less worried next time, I'm sure. Thanks for the support guys. |

Know I'm coming to this late Sally but I'm glad your corn has done a clean shed for you , as well as feeding and pooing .
What everyone said is right, it's normal to worry when you are new to it all. I've had snakes for quite a few years and whenever any of mine go blue I still get that niggle in the back of mind about whether they will shed clean. It's always a relief to find that lovely shed waiting for you, usually accompanied by a poo . One of my snakes did a 'double blue'. His eyes clouded over and then went clear but he didn't shed. His eyes then went blue again so it was nearly 2 weeks before he finally shed!
You'll find that these snakes never follow the rules and like to worry us , so your reaction is totally normal. Please keep asking questions, whether you need answers or just want reassurance. It's what we're here for .
