I went to my local Reptile shop yesterday and they had a little snakey that someone had brought in because his son got bored of it.
First off just to clear this up as I will mention it in the post - We viewed a nice 3 bed house yesterday and decided to take it so we'll be moved by Christmas BIGGER BEDROOM! 
I was looking round and I saw a small(probably about 8-10l) RUB with a label that said "Cross Black Rat Snake - £25" on it. I asked if I could have a look at him and Tony(works there) went "Yeah sure, I'll go get him!" so he brought him out, put his tub on the counter and went "Be warned, he was never handled at his old house so he's very tetchy."
He took the lid off and this little gorgeous Black and Pink(literally Salmon pink!) snake was sat there rattling his tail and in the S shape! I fell in love. I'm not usually a fan of hybrids but his markings and colour were so contrasting it made him gorgeous!
He's about 18-24 inch long but as Tony said, he's very feisty! He went to get him out and this snake hissed, opened it's mouth as wide as possible and struck. Now I have a dilemma XD
I want him! I told Tony that if he still has him next year(after Christmas) when I have a bit more money and we are in the new house so I have room for his viv I will take him. I hope to go back to the shop soon and I'll try and get pictures of this little gorgeous black and pink snakey lol.
Anyway, just wanted to tell you all lol. |

| Lol, it's TOO DANGEROUS going into reptile shops - there's always something in there you want to buy! Would love to see pics, sounds really pretty! |

Definitely too dangerous!! They have a gorgeous 6ft Afrock in too but he's really nasty! Tony went in to change the water in his bowl and the sounds that came out of him made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up!
Thinking of going back today to get pictures of all the snakes I want haha!

SBB: Thanks, he's a real cutey and if you look past the striking, angry I'm-going-to-rip-your-face-off side he's pretty sweet XD
I held him earlier With Leather Gloves obviously as he really does want to kill everything! However, he can't bite through my leather gloves which is a good thing as if I get him I can start off handling him with them till he calms down and stops trying to eat everything. He doubles back on himself just to strike at my hands. He got the gloves twice in the short time of 5 minutes that I had him out.
Anyway!! I took my camera so here are pictures For some reason his pink doesn't look as bright in the pictures but he really is black and salmon pink lol.
I know MJ will like him as he's like a dark Anery 
And here's some other photo's from today.
Big 6ft highly aggressive Afrock Python! Want him but A. No room and B. He'd probably actually succeed in killing me!! XD
Caiman that lives in the shop There's two, this one and another in a different tank.
One of the six baby boas's he has in. Handled all six like a boss Nah, they are all really friendly and calm with being handled.

| He's a beauty, I would love to know what he is and what he will grow up into, a very interesting addition to a collection! I am really considering a reptile shop, need to sort out what area would be best and see if it's achievable. |

He looks lovely :) might stop being aggressive if you do get him.Once he's been in your care for awhile etc.

I'm hoping that with regular handling(in the shop they don't get chance to handle everyone all the time) and care and love he'll calm down.
So far there's been no interest in him at all despite how nice he is and they've had him for over 3 months  It's mainly because he's a hybrid and has an attitude no-one wants him. |

| the attitude will put most people off esp people new to snakes, it's very unlikely someone with no experience in snake keeping would want such an aggressive snake. Fingers crossed he's still there after Christmas. |

Depends if it's that kinda shop,to sell it to anyone.But like you say,the attitude will put off most people. |

he's lovely, we have a black rat at work and initally it was a sod to deal with,all the students where frightened of her. She tagged me one day while I was changing her water! She's calmed down loads now although getting her out can be intersting, but once out she's fine. she's a fab snake though:

In relevance as to whether the shop will sell to anyone, Tony always warns that he's aggressive due to never being handled at his old owner's and that's when people go "Oh, no thank-you!" which is a shame because with handling I think he would calm down and be a nice snake.
SBB - Bite pics will be included when he get's me lol.
Lupi Lou - Aww she's gorgeous! This little boy is a cross but we're not sure what with. I'm thinking Corn or Everglades Rat Snake due to the pink tones in his sides. |
