Ok so the '3rd moult hoppers' I got for Masuka have been fine, although I noticed a couple shed and have gotten quite a bit bigger. And fast! Just been having a look around t'internet and apparantly these things can fly when they reach adult size?!?! WTF?

They are growing at an alarming rate, to the point where they might be too big for him to take soon(probably? He's 10inches (Masuka not the locust ) long) so I'm just wondering what do I do with them if they get too big? And start FLYING ugh!

Cannot WAIT to try him on Dubia roaches....just waiting on the shop near me to have thier colony set up before they start selling them!

Hmm I've not had this problem but then again I get the small ones which have one or two moults before they have all been fed! They get quite a size when they are full grown with wings, do you know anyone with a bearded dragon or any other lizard that would be able to eat the bigger ones? How many tubs do you buy? when it was just Jeff I just bought the one tub which would last us around a month. I wouldn't mind trying Dubia's (well not me personally )

Yes I may have to start buying smaller to last! It may only be as I'm only just getting him to eat them, when he's a bit more settled and established in an eating routine he'll be having more. (Only managed to get him to eat 2 so far!)

I only bought the one tub, and don't know of anyone else with reps. If they do get too big before he eats them, I might ask if the local reptile shop would want them, worth a shot. If not I'll have pet locusts haha!

Yeah dubias sound great from what I've read. If he likes them I'll prob start a wee colony if it's worth it!

I think the dubia work out cheaper if you have your own colony. I know what you mean about getting them going, my little treper girl has only taken one so far, she didn't eat again yesterday, the little minx! The sunglow on the other hand is a little fatty!

We used to get hoppers for my lizards when I was in my teens - some of them got too big and developed into adults - which yes most definitely have wings lol. You musn't let locusts free in this country (even though I don't think they could survive as it's not warm enough?) but that was OK... because my weird younger sister decided to keep them as pets!! She set them up in an old fish tank with net curtain over the top, and would even get them out and hold them, yuk! They don't actually last very long though thankfully :)

I'm the clumsiest person too but not around the bugs haha!

Oh noooo! I was kidding when I said I'll have pet locusts haha! Good to know they don't last too long though. Creepy things! Wouldn't mind them if they couldn't jump!
