A little toad...couldn't climb out and was so exhausted, I first thought it was dead, but it revived when I took it out

Mj, it nearly needed a kiss of life! :-)

Can toads drown? I thought it was dead when I first saw it, it was flat and floppy on the water ( not the same way as a frog in the water ), face in, not moving, not reacting to anything. It was totally limp, and took a while before it started moving, when I pulled it out,poor little thing. Must have fallen in from the bank above, and then it couldn't get out. Was quite small, for a toad, so I think it must have been a youngster, too.
