Since Storm was always out in faun and trying to escape, i put him in the large faun i got before i saw how teeny he was and bought the smaller one. There is more stuff in it, good cover for him, but should i leave him to settle? |

Ermmm... I'm the first one to admit I don't ALWAYS stick to the week rule. It's not really a rule, just a guideline - to stop new keepers handling their new hatchlings to death. The more important think, IMO, is to be able to know and "read" your snake, so that you know what is best for it.
So, when I moved Little T in his 4 ft viv, I only lasted several days. I knew he was completely confident, and so I fed him several days after, which meant he had another couple of days in peace, to digest. The newbie - I wasn't sure whether to feed him straight away or not, my gut feeling was to do it, and it was ok.
You know your snakey best - maybe give him a couple of days, and then see how he goes :-) Give him a chance in the bigger faun - he might like it :-) |

I concur with Razee only you know your snakey, and its not like you are going to take him for an amble down the local are you? I was seriously caught out by Lilith, let her settle-she was angry, left her be-she was Orrid.Decided she was just plain 'onery critter Then found out the poor wee girl was full of eggs(slugs). Good enough reason for an 18mth old to be grumpy-I still have my shame face on over that one |
