Warning, there be photo's of a tarantula moulting here!
Woke up the other morning to find Pu finishing off making a moulting cradle, really wasn't expecting it!! So I went downstairs, got the kettle on, came back up for something and he'd already flipped over!!
Just needs a Pina Colada and a sun shade
Nothing happened that I could really see for a couple of hours, then I went to check and found things were on the move so to speak.
Abdomen and carapace are on their way out
Now the new legs are appearing:
Nearly there!
First legs free:
Pushing away at that old skin:
He's free
Worn out, preparing to flip back over onto his front:
New pearly whites!
Back on his front recovering, so fluffy! :
Had a good look at the moult, its a boy!!!
Got in trouble off the kids while this went on as I was supposed to be making dinner, so I treated them to a chippy dinner as it was so late |
