I took my mum for a look in the local rep shop today. She used to be terrified of snakes but with a gentle approach she is now finding them fascinating. Any way the beautiful green burmese python is still in there I have to have a good look at her every time I visit. Kev the owner always laughs and says 'yes she's still here'. She was having a soak in a tub today. I am resisting though even though my OH has said he would buy her for me if I would like her That's a pretty amazing offer considering he is scared of my corn snakes Kev even let slip in to the conversation he is going to drop her price today before she gets to big for the shop. Have to say if she was a he then I would be very very tempted almost to point where I do not think I would be able to refuse my husbands offer. I did say as I was leaving the shop I would take her home there and then if was going to give her to me. Can't blame a girl for trying lol.

I love burms but they are just too big for my OH or my house... they're so pretty though and generally quite placid.

A female burm is a BIG snake

Well my mum very taken with Bert our crestie. Not sure dad would agree to that though.

I could build a viv under the stairs to make an 8ft x 3ft x 2ft high rising to 4 or 5ft not big enough in my eyes though. Don't think I would feel comfortable in giving it anything less than its own room.

Talking of gorgeous big snakes, I'm waiting for a white albino super dwarf retic to become much more affordable...I would have one already if I had a spare £2500 lying around...

That and the space for another viv. Super dwarf males normally stay around 8ft which is about the upper limit of my size range.

2.4.0 Corn snakes
1.0.0 horse
0.1.0 Golden retriever
1.4.0 Guinea pigs

Oooh that burm is lovely - if only she'd stay the size she is currently lol! Have you seen the shed they've got pinned on the wall above the vivs? Really makes you think how big the gorgeous snake in the viv is actually going to get. I know the stats etc for how big they get - but seeing that shed I was stil 'woooooooooow'!

I am impressed at your control and how generous is your O/H! I looked after a burm for a friend a month ago and she was still reasonably small the O/H wouldn't even come in the room while the viv door was open! I also made the mistake of showing him the boa and am now not allowed one apparently they look evil :-(
