Hi guys,

Before i start i dont have oics at the moment but will upload later.

My corn snake was burnt when she was a baby (i didnt own her then) since then she has has skin issues in this area which the vet advised was scarring. Everytime she shed the areas got a bit red raw but was advised to use sudocream aftershedding which cleared this up. However the last few weeks this issue has got out of control and she has what looks like lost all her scales in these areas and they are red raw and oipen. Was just wondering whether anyone had anything to sugest on this issue? Was thinking of waiting for these areas to dry up and scab and then treat with sudocream again?

Will upload some pics later.

Better to have the vet look at it ASAP instead of waiting, particularly if raw in case of infection.

The risk of infection is going to be high with raw flesh and I don't think sudocreme (sp?) is antiseptic in any way so it won't be suitable, a vets visit (the sooner the better) is in order and I would remove all substrate from the enclosure and replace with kitchen towel or similar to help keep the wound clean and the risk of infection down.

Our opinions are not worth asking for with something like this. He will be able to check if an infection is already present and offer his professional advice on what steps can be taken.

Short of waiting to see if it heals over by itself, which is dangerous with open wounds, there's not really much you can do but take her to a vet. You've already done everything you can for her but the problem has gotten worse, and at this stage there are too many variables for a home remedy; none of us know exactly what's going on so trying something without a vet's approval may end up doing more harm than good. As Auld Baldy said, a vet will be able to tell you whether she already has an infection (may be the reason her skin has gotten worse), and will be able to prescribe creams or medicines if necessary.

Really hope she gets better soon <3
